Kim Hellberg insists David Strelec still has an important role to play for Middlesbrough in the coming months despite a frustrating start to the season for the striker
Middlesbrough manager Kim Hellberg insists striker David Strelec remains an important part of the squad despite suffering another injury setback. Strelec will miss the upcoming match against Cardiff City after sustaining a minor injury while on international duty with Slovakia. Hellberg expressed frustration over the timing of the injury but remains hopeful that the forward can return to training next week.
Strelec has struggled for availability this season, playing just eight Championship minutes following earlier injuries. In his absence, forward Will Lankshear has impressed, but Hellberg affirmed Strelec's quality and believes the striker will still play a key role once he maintains consistent fitness.
