The Minnesota Wild have recalled defenseman Carson Lambos from the AHL's Iowa Wild and reassigned forward Justin Kirkland in a corresponding roster move. The defensive reinforcement comes as the Wild navigate new upper-body injuries to defensemen Jared Spurgeon and Olli Määttä, who currently have no set timeline for their returns. Defenseman Matt Kiersted is also set to make his 2026-27 season debut against the St. Louis Blues.
Lambos, 23, has appeared in just one NHL game over four years in the organization, recording 54 points in 211 career AHL contests. Meanwhile, Kirkland returns to Iowa after two days on the NHL roster, having signed a one-year, two-way contract worth $850,000 during the offseason.
