Boy did the New Jersey Devils need this. It’s not like the season has been a Philadelphia Flyers level catastrophe thus far, as a 3-3-0 record is perfectly adequate six games into the campaign. But the Devils were only beating…

Luke Hughes recorded his first career multi-goal game to guide the New Jersey Devils to an emphatic 7-1 victory over the rival New York Rangers. Evan Rodrigues opened the scoring late in the first period before the Devils exploded with multiple goals in the second frame, chasing Rangers goaltender Dylan Garand from the contest.
Nico Hischier scored his 203rd career goal to claim sole possession of third place on the Devils' all-time list, while head coach Sheldon Keefe earned his 300th career NHL victory. Arseny Gritsyuk, Stefan Noesen, and Cody Glass also scored for New Jersey, which improved to 4-3-0 on the season behind a strong performance in net from Nico Daws.
