Andoni Iraola appears to have found a fix for Florian Wirtz. The German's form should skyrocket from here.
Alex Caple of Anfield Watch argues that manager Andoni Iraola has found a tactical solution to unlock Florian Wirtz's form at Liverpool. Iraola shifted Liverpool's shape to a 4-3-3 formation in recent matches, allowing Wirtz to play as an attacking central midfielder rather than a static number ten.
Caple notes that this positional change grants Wirtz freedom to find pockets of space and move toward goal. In a recent match against LASK, Wirtz registered 80 touches, tripled his penalty area touches, and created significantly more chances compared to earlier outings.
