Manchester City have a cloud hanging over their success after being found guilty of breaking Premier League financial rules in a way that could have cost Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham

Manchester City's financial rule breaches reportedly cost Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur a combined £196.4m during the period the club was found guilty. Tottenham suffered the largest shortfall, missing out on approximately £120m by finishing behind Manchester City and losing Champions League qualification revenue. Chelsea and Arsenal recorded estimated losses of £45.8m and £30.9m, respectively.
An independent commission found City guilty of 114 breaches between 2009 and 2018, leaving the club facing potential fines, point deductions, or expulsion. Manchester City maintains its innocence and has appealed the ruling. Across the affected period, the BBC estimates rival clubs may have collectively missed out on up to £844m in prize money and European earnings.
