Reece James will be out injury until at least 2027 after going under the knife in what Chelsea described as 'minor knee surgery'

Chelsea captain Reece James has undergone minor knee surgery and is expected to be sidelined until 2027. The 26-year-old sustained the training injury ahead of Chelsea's recent 5-1 Premier League victory over Bournemouth, subsequently undergoing medical assessments that confirmed the need for an operation.
Manager Xabi Alonso and Chelsea confirmed James has begun his rehabilitation at Cobham. The extended absence rules the versatile defender out of crucial upcoming fixtures against Everton, Tottenham, Liverpool, and Manchester United.
