Timo Meier has put 27 shots on goal for the New Jersey Devils this season. Not one has gone in.…

New Jersey Devils forward Timo Meier remains scoreless through the first seven games of the season despite recording 27 shots on goal. While underlying metrics indicate poor shooting luck from dangerous areas, James Nichols reports that Meier's ice time and shot volume have experienced a noticeable decline. Meier has contributed three primary assists, but a dropping shot rate presents growing questions for the team.
Meier averaged 18:17 of ice time through his first three games, which fell to an average of 14:40 over the following three contests. His shot production dropped simultaneously from 18 shots in the first three games to five across the subsequent three. Despite the current drought, Meier holds a career shooting percentage of 10.5% with 241 goals across 705 career games.
