The Spurs are the title favorites and Wembanyama the MVP favorite.

The NBA's annual general manager survey conducted by John Schuhmann of NBA.com revealed strong backing for Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs were voted favorites to win the NBA championship with 50 percent of the vote, narrowly edging out the Oklahoma City Thunder at 43 percent. Wembanyama dominated individual projections, capturing 77 percent of the votes to win the 2026-27 MVP award and receiving 97 percent as the league's top defender.
Additional survey results highlighted Cameron Boozer as the Rookie of the Year favorite with 50 percent of the vote. Erik Spoelstra was voted the league's best coach with 43 percent, while the Philadelphia 76ers were widely praised for having the best offseason, securing 73 percent. However, writer Kurt Helin noted that historical survey projections from general managers are frequently inaccurate.
