The Story in 60 Seconds

Six-time DP World Tour winner Joost Luiten criticized LIV Golf players seeking to rejoin the European circuit and slammed the tour for facilitating their return. Speaking to Today's Golfer, Luiten argued that returning LIV players should not be granted tournament invites, stating that they left purely for financial reasons and should instead be forced to earn their tour cards back through Qualifying School.

Luiten's remarks contrast with those of Rory McIlroy, who voiced support for welcoming former LIV players back to both the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour. While McIlroy views their return as a business benefit, Luiten warned that giving exemptions to returning players directly harms the livelihoods of loyal members and emerging talent.
