Hampshire and Scotland seamer Brad Wheal has retired from professional cricket after a succession of injuries.

Hampshire and Scotland fast bowler Brad Wheal has announced his retirement from professional cricket at the age of 30 following a series of persistent injuries. The seamer, who represented Scotland in 44 matches and took 51 international wickets across a decade-long career, confirmed that four separate back stress fractures and recent knee surgery left his body unable to cope with the physical demands of fast bowling.
Wheal featured for Scotland at four T20 World Cups, including the recent tournament in India. At the county level, he played for Hampshire since 2015, helping the club secure the One Day Cup in 2018 and the T20 Blast title in 2022.
