Farid Basharat was not offered a new contract despite a 7-0 UFC run

Undefeated bantamweight contender Farid Basharat has released his first statement after parting ways with the UFC, expressing disappointment after not receiving an offer to re-sign. Basharat became an unrestricted free agent following the expiration of his contract, stating that the promotion is no longer what it used to be.
Basharat left the UFC with an unblemished 16-0 professional MMA record, which included a 7-0 run inside the Octagon. His contract concluded following a unanimous decision victory over John Garza at UFC 329 in July, leaving the top-ranked fighter free to sign with any other promotion.
