Are Guardians Playing Tonight? Time Set for MLB to Make Schedule Decision

Major League Baseball scheduled a 6 p.m. ET call on Friday with team representatives to decide whether Game 4 of the ALCS between the Cleveland Guardians and Tampa Bay Rays could proceed as scheduled. Manager Stephen Vogt confirmed the meeting to reporters as rainy weather threatened Cleveland. As of 5 p.m. ET, the game remained scheduled for an 8 p.m. start, with the clearest weather window anticipated between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Cleveland led the series 2-1 after previously moving Game 3 to Thursday afternoon to avoid bad weather. If MLB decides to postpone Game 4, the league could utilize a scheduled Sunday off day to push games back, potentially rescheduling Game 4 to Saturday night and Game 5 to Sunday before any necessary travel back to Tropicana Field.
