Madrid and Tebas, who have spent weeks feuding, escalated things on Friday.
Real Madrid called for the immediate resignation of La Liga president Javier Tebas on Friday following controversial comments he made on social media. The dispute escalated after Tebas compared the media strategy of Real Madrid TV, particularly regarding its criticism of referees, to the propaganda methods used by Nazi minister Joseph Goebbels.
Tebas later clarified that his remarks referenced propaganda techniques rather than Nazi ideology itself. In addition to Real Madrid issuing an official statement condemning the remarks, Spain's National Sports Council is reportedly considering an intervention into the matter.
