Bronny James heads into the final preseason game of his third NBA season with the Los Angeles Lakers still facing questions about whether he can handle the duties of an NBA point guard.
Bronny James faces scrutiny over his point guard readiness heading into the Los Angeles Lakers' final preseason game. Across four exhibition contests, James has averaged 2.8 points, 3.3 assists, and 2.8 rebounds while shooting 26.7% from the field and committing 12 turnovers. Lakers head coach JJ Redick stated that James has not played well during the preseason, notably following a scoreless outing in a 101-89 loss to the Golden State Warriors.
Lakers insider Jovan Buha also questioned James' capability to run the offense and serve as a reliable third ball-handler. The Lakers require depth behind Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves due to Collin Sexton recovering from an injury. James will have a final preseason opportunity to demonstrate his readiness against the Denver Nuggets at Crypto.com Arena.
