Barcelona eyeing 20-year-old Tottenham midfielder as potential Gavi successor

Spanish giants Barcelona are reportedly monitoring Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lucas Bergvall as a potential long-term successor to Gavi. According to reports sourced from El Nacional and shared by MatchdayHQ, the Catalan side has identified the Swedish international as an option to strengthen their midfield. The reported interest highlights the young player's progression since joining Tottenham, though any potential move remains at a preliminary and speculative stage.

Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi views Bergvall as an integral component of the club's long-term sporting strategy. The Spurs hierarchy is expected to strongly resist any permanent transfer approach for the midfielder. Furthermore, Barcelona's ongoing financial limitations present a major hurdle, as any formal bid would demand substantial capital to persuade Tottenham to consider selling their prospect.
