Max Verstappen is in sensational form, but it has come too late for a title charge.

Former Haas team principal Guenther Steiner assessed Max Verstappen's recent surge in form, stating rival teams are more surprised than terrified by Red Bull's sudden turnaround. Speaking on the Red Flags podcast, Steiner noted rivals may fear Verstappen winning individual races, but are no longer terrified regarding the championship battle. Verstappen recently took a dominant victory at the Singapore Grand Prix ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.
Despite back-to-back victories, Verstappen sits fourth in the drivers' standings on 221 points, trailing championship leader Kimi Antonelli by 119 points with six races remaining. Steiner also cautioned against looking ahead to the 2027 season, urging observers to focus on concluding the remaining races of the current campaign.
