Cyrus Allen has the opportunity to to step up and become a huge year 1 difference maker for the Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid indicated that rookie wide receiver Cyrus Allen is expected to take on an expanded offensive role. The adjustment comes amid injuries across the team's receiving corps, including Tyquan Thornton's dislocated ankle and uncertainty surrounding Rashee Rice's hamstring injury. Reid expressed confidence in Allen, noting the young player has good ability.
Selected in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft from Cincinnati, Allen has played only 10 offensive snaps with one target so far this season. He is now expected to see increased playing time alongside Xavier Worthy as the Chiefs reshuffle their passing attack.
