Ready or not, Dodge is racing toward a 2027 season that includes competing in NASCAR Cup. But is it too much, too soon?

Dodge appears set to enter the NASCAR Cup Series in 2027 alongside Kaulig Racing, according to a report from The Athletic. CEO Tim Kuniskis has targeted 2027 despite industry concerns about the aggressive timeline. The manufacturer still needs to finalize an engine deal, which is expected to be handled through Richard Childress's ECR engines.
FOX Sports argues that entering Cup racing in 2027 may be challenging because Dodge currently lacks a dedicated tech center and simulator. However, moving quickly allows the manufacturer to secure corporate funding while leadership is committed, even if initial results face low expectations.
