The Cricket Advisory Committee interviewed the Mumbai trio of Wasim Jaffer, Ramesh Powar and Salil Ankola, along with Baroda’s Jacob Martin and Connor Williams
Five former cricketers have been interviewed by the Cricket Advisory Committee for a vacant spot on India's senior men's selection committee. The BCCI position opened after former chairman Ajit Agarkar chose not to renew his contract, which expired on October 4. Ashok Malhotra and Jatin Paranjape conducted the interviews on October 15, evaluating candidates Wasim Jaffer, Ramesh Powar, Salil Ankola, Jacob Martin, and Connor Williams.
Ramesh Powar is reportedly the front-runner for the role after previously coaching Gujarat in domestic cricket. Wasim Jaffer holds the most Test appearances among the candidates with 31 caps, meaning he would automatically become committee chairman if appointed under BCCI regulations. Salil Ankola is also seeking a return to the panel after previously serving during India's 2024 T20 World Cup victory.
