The New York Jets face a tough test on the road against the Patriots. They may also have to change their approach defensively against Drake Maye

The Jet Press argues that the New York Jets may need to alter their blitz-heavy defensive strategy when facing New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye on Sunday. Defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn has directed the Jets to blitz on 52.4% of snaps through five weeks, ranking second in the NFL. However, writer Matt O'Leary suggests reducing the blitz could be more effective against Maye's specific tendencies.
According to Pro Football Focus, Maye holds a 101.4 passer rating when blitzed, compared to an 81.4 rating and six interceptions when not facing a blitz. The article suggests deploying Cover 6 coverage and relying on interior defensive linemen like T'Vondre Sweat, Jowon Briggs, and Darrell Jackson Jr. to generate pressure without sending extra rushers.
