Defensive end/linebacker Greg Ellis takes the title of the best Dallas Cowboys player to wear No. 98.

The Landry Hat named defensive end Greg Ellis as the best player to wear jersey No. 98 in Dallas Cowboys history. Ellis was selected eighth overall in the 1998 NFL Draft over wide receiver Randy Moss, whom many fans had preferred. Despite the initial disappointment from supporters, Ellis established a successful 11-season tenure in Dallas, ranking ninth on the franchise's all-time sacks list.
During his time with the Cowboys, Ellis accumulated 77.0 sacks, 502 total tackles, and earned Comeback Player of the Year honors in 2007. Tyrone Crawford was selected by writer Luke Norris as the runner-up for the jersey number.
