Clippers 2027 Player Preview: Brandon Ingram

Robert Flom evaluates veteran forward Brandon Ingram's role for the Los Angeles Clippers heading into the 2027 season. Ingram, who arrived via a trade involving Kawhi Leonard, is currently in the second season of a three-year, $120 million contract. However, expectations for the team have shifted following offseason surgery to repair a partially torn Achilles, which will sideline Ingram for the start of the regular season.

Flom highlights Ingram's reliable midrange scoring and playmaking as vital offensive assets alongside Darius Garland once he returns. Despite these strengths, the writer cites defense, rim pressure, and injury history as major concerns, viewing Ingram as an effective short-term stopgap rather than a long-term piece.
