Former Minnesota Twins reliever Tyler Duffey thinks that future Hall of Famer Paul Goldschmidt would be an ideal replacement for Josh Bell.

Puckett's Pond writer Jackson Kruse argues that the Minnesota Twins should target veteran free agent Paul Goldschmidt as an ideal replacement for Josh Bell. Kruse highlights that Goldschmidt could provide veteran leadership to a young roster while serving as a designated hitter and first baseman. Former Twins pitcher Tyler Duffey also endorsed the potential signing on a recent podcast appearance, pointing out the fit and expected affordability.
Kruse suggests Goldschmidt would be an effective platoon option against left-handed pitching alongside young left-handed hitters Walker Jenkins and Emmanuel Rodriguez. The 39-year-old slashed .299/.393/.573 with 11 home runs against lefties this past season for the New York Yankees and recently stated his intention to continue playing next year.
