The Toronto Maple Leafs finished off their road trip with a 5-4 loss to the Utah Mammoth.

The Toronto Maple Leafs concluded their three-game road trip with a 5-4 defeat against the Utah Mammoth at the Delta Center on Tuesday night. Auston Matthews, Jack Roslovic, John Tavares, and Gavin McKenna each scored for Toronto, while goaltender Anthony Stolarz made 23 saves on 28 shots. Despite trailing 5-2 entering the third period, Toronto mounted a late comeback attempt that ultimately fell one goal short.
Writer Marc Sautter argues that the defeat showed encouraging resilience compared to previous seasons, noting that top players almost forced overtime. However, Sautter points out ongoing defensive issues, an unsettled Kirill Marchenko, and Stolarz's subpar performance in net as persistent problems. The Maple Leafs now return home to host the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night.
