When (and where) will Dylan Larkin be traded? That's the hot topic in the NHL right now. We know that Larkin—whom the Habs are ready to acquire—doesn't seem to want to play in Canada.
The Detroit Red Wings could pressure Dylan Larkin into accepting a permanent trade to the Montreal Canadiens by threatening to scratch him from the lineup, according to comments highlighted from Renaud Lavoie. While Montreal reportedly has the best offer on the table, the deal is currently held up because Larkin appears reluctant to play in Canada.
ESPN's John Buccigross reported hearing that a trade involving Larkin could materialize within 7 to 10 days. The report notes that Detroit holds leverage by controlling Larkin's playing time, potentially benching him in the press box if he continues to block a move to the Canadiens.
