On the latest episode of Subpar, former NHL star Brenden Morrow recalled the hilarious story of his first round with Gary Woodland.

Former NHL player Brenden Morrow revealed on GOLF's Subpar Podcast that he spent an entire round of golf mistakenly calling major champion Gary Woodland "Jerry." Morrow explained that during a round at TPC Craig Ranch alongside co-host Colt Knost, he believed he heard someone refer to Woodland as Jerry. Despite seeing the name Gary on Woodland's golf bag, Morrow continued using the wrong name all day, including during a car ride afterward, without anyone correcting him.
Morrow also shared that the two athletes once placed a $10,000 bet on who would reach a major career milestone first. Morrow wagered he would win a Stanley Cup before Woodland won a major golf championship. Morrow ultimately retired in 2015 without winning a Stanley Cup, while Woodland captured the 2019 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach. Morrow noted he has not yet paid the wager but hopes to host Woodland at a member-guest tournament instead.
