Pat Cummins doubts it will matter how the Australians approach Kagiso Rabada in his return to Test cricket in Gqeberha on Sunday given the sight of the Baggy Green is enough to incite an inspired response in the Protea superstar.
Australia captain Pat Cummins indicated that Matthew Renshaw will likely remain at No. 5 for the second Test in Gqeberha, suggesting Nic Maddinson will open again. Cummins also acknowledged the challenge of facing South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada, who returns for his first Test in 12 months after the Proteas fell behind in the series.
Ahead of his return, Rabada addressed his infamous 2018 shoulder-bump incident with Steve Smith, describing it as an emotional heat-of-the-moment contest between elite athletes. Meanwhile, Cummins noted that Australian selectors are still assessing pitch and weather conditions before deciding whether to introduce Scott Boland into the bowling attack.
