The Detroit Red Wings have placed defenseman Jacob Bernard-Docker on waivers after activating him from injured reserve. Bernard-Docker had missed the beginning of the regular season due to an upper-body injury. With Detroit already carrying seven defensemen on the active roster, the organization intends to assign him to their AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins, if he clears.
Drafted 26th overall in 2018 by the Ottawa Senators, the 26-year-old blueliner recorded five points across 63 games for Detroit last season. Over his 207-game NHL career, Bernard-Docker has totaled 29 points across stints with Ottawa, Buffalo, and Detroit.
