Denver Nuggets swingman Julian Strawther will be sidelined for at least six weeks due to a left knee sprain. Strawther sustained the injury during a preseason matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday and had to be assisted off the court. While initial concerns suggested a potentially season-ending injury, an MRI confirmed it was a sprain, and he will be re-evaluated in six weeks.
Strawther, a 24-year-old former 2023 first-round draft pick out of Gonzaga, averaged 7.2 points and 2.0 rebounds in 57 appearances for Denver last season. The injury comes as he remains eligible to sign a rookie-scale contract extension with the Nuggets through Monday.
