Report: Troy Aikman has no ongoing Miami Dolphins consulting deal

Troy Aikman has no formal and ongoing agreement to continue advising the Miami Dolphins, according to a report from Front Office Sports' Mark Maske. The former quarterback had been brought in to consult on the searches that resulted in the hiring of general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley. While the formal assignment has concluded, it remains unknown whether Aikman still provides informal guidance to the organization.

Aikman's future remains unsettled as his ESPN broadcasting contract expires following the network's Super Bowl broadcast in February. His involvement with the Dolphins previously led the NFL to impose broadcast access restrictions similar to those placed on Tom Brady, limiting facility and practice access while permitting game commentary and remote meetings. Meanwhile, the Dolphins currently stand at 0-5 under Hafley's leadership.
