Colorado Rockies president of baseball operations Paul DePodesta announced that the team must approach roster building as if veteran third baseman Kris Bryant will not be available. DePodesta shared the update during an end-of-season media session following the Rockies' 58-104 campaign in 2026, as reported by Kyle Newman of The Denver Post.
Bryant, who signed a seven-year, $182 million contract prior to the 2022 season, missed the entire 2026 season due to a degenerative disc condition in his back. The 34-year-old former NL MVP has been limited to 170 games over five seasons in Colorado and is still owed $27 million in each of the next two seasons.
