The Story in 60 Seconds

Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Aaron Ashby made MLB history during the NLCS sweep against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He became the first pitcher since Lance McCullers Jr. in 2017 to record a save spanning three or more innings in a series-clinching game. Ashby pitched 6.2 scoreless innings across three appearances in the series, allowing just three baserunners while securing two saves to help Milwaukee reach its first World Series since 1982.

Throughout the 2026 postseason, Ashby has pitched a team-high 12.1 innings across six appearances without surrendering an earned run. Although teammate Jake Bauers won the NLCS MVP award, Ashby's key contributions included escaping multiple jams with the tying run on third base during Game 4.
