Jesse Love won the NASCAR O'Reilly Series Timberland PRO 200 at Phoenix Raceway, solidifying his lead in the Chase standings. Driving the No. 2 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet, the 21-year-old swept both stages and led 156 of the 200 laps. Love held off a hard-charging Sam Mayer by just 0.128 seconds to claim his second victory of the season and fifth career series win.
The victory gave Love a 36-point advantage over Justin Allgaier in the standings with three races remaining in the season. Former championship leader Sheldon Creed dropped to fourth place, 59 points behind Love, after suffering a mechanical kill-switch failure that relegated him to a 32nd-place finish.
