Virgil van Dijk reacts to Liverpool's 2-1 win over Brentford on what was his 150th game as captain of the club in the Premier League

Virgil van Dijk described himself as "really blessed" after celebrating his 150th Premier League match as Liverpool captain with a 2-1 victory over Brentford. Goals from Victor Munoz and Alexander Isak secured the comeback win for the Reds after Keane Lewis-Potter opened the scoring. Van Dijk also praised teammate Florian Wirtz, stating the midfielder is handling the spotlight well and proving himself as a Liverpool player.
Brentford finished the match with nine men following red cards for Yehor Yarmoliuk and Vitaly Janelt. The result brought an end to the Bees' unbeaten home record that had stood since February. Along with Wirtz, Van Dijk also offered post-match praise for the performances of teammates Victor Munoz and teenage substitute Rio Ngumoha.
