Matt Kuny writes for OilersNation that Devon Levi has emerged as the go-to goaltender for the Edmonton Oilers under coach Mike Babcock. Acquired from the Buffalo Sabres on July 1, 2026, for a third-round pick, Levi has earned five starts early in the season despite allowing seven goals in his debut victory, posting strong bounce-back performances against Seattle, Anaheim, and Los Angeles.

Kuny expects general manager Stan Bowman will eventually avoid carrying three goaltenders through waivers or trade.
