China's state television has confirmed the indefinite suspension of LaLiga broadcasts in the country, according to the EFE news agency. The drastic measure comes in response to deep anger over remarks…

Chinese state broadcaster CCTV has suspended the broadcast of LaLiga matches following controversial comments made by Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé. The backlash began after Mbappé made remarks regarding a meme that compared him to former Chinese leader Mao Zedong. In response, Chinese authorities implemented a television blackout of Spanish league matches across the country.
Despite formal apologies issued by Mbappé, Real Madrid, and LaLiga, Chinese state television reportedly rejected the explanations, claiming the player's remarks went beyond freedom of speech. The controversy has also caused significant commercial fallout, resulting in terminated sponsorship agreements and the removal of digital content featuring Mbappé in China.
