An equaliser from Olivia Smith averted defeat for Arsenal but their 1-1 home draw with Birmingham did little to calm fears for Renée Slegers’ future as Gunners coach.Boos accompanied the final whistle at the Emirates, as a draw left Arsenal…

Arsenal fans booed at the final whistle as a 1-1 draw against Birmingham at the Emirates Stadium extended the club's winless Women's Super League run to five matches. Océane Hurtré gave Birmingham the lead following a fast break before Olivia Smith equalized for Arsenal in the 66th minute. The result marks the longest winless run in WSL history for Arsenal, placing increased pressure on coach Renée Slegers.
The draw leaves Arsenal in eighth place with six points from six matches, nine points behind league leaders Manchester City. Despite Sophie Baggaley making key saves in goal for Birmingham and Alessia Russo hitting the woodwork, Arsenal failed to find a winning goal. The Gunners next face rival Tottenham in the north London derby.
