Bayern boss breaks silence on Florian Wirtz transfer links amid Liverpool struggles

Bayern Munich supervisory board member Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has addressed speculation regarding a potential move for Liverpool attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz. Despite Bayern's push to sign him before he joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen in 2025, Rummenigge indicated that a permanent transfer is currently unlikely given Bayern's existing squad depth and the high expected cost.

Rummenigge noted that Bayern already possess options like Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry, and Ismael Saibari in Wirtz's position. While expressing surprise at the 23-year-old's struggles under Liverpool manager Arne Slot, Rummenigge added that he could not completely rule out future possibilities if circumstances change.
