Bayern have juggled a Ballon d’Or triumph, a new contract, a big win and injuries while their coach heals at home, and the international break now brings time to reflect.

Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany is nearing a full recovery after being away from the club for two weeks, according to assistant coach Aaron Danks. Kompany collapsed during a reserve team training session on Oct. 23 and was hospitalized for meningeal irritation, an inflammation of the tissue around the brain or spinal cord.
Danks will continue to manage the team for Saturday's Bundesliga fixture against Mainz before an upcoming international break gives Kompany more time to recuperate. While recovering at home, Bayern Munich has kept soccer matters away from the manager, including Harry Kane's recent contract extension and Ballon d'Or victory.
