Following three halftime substitutions by manager Vincent Kompany, Bayern mounted a second-half comeback. Harry Kane scored twice—first from a penalty and then via a Joshua Kimmich cross—before Luis Díaz scored in the 71st minute to give Bayern a 3-2 lead.
