You really could just call it the “Michael Olise of the Match” award. France’s manager Zinedine Zidane rested Bayern Munich winger Olise in their last Nations League match of the September international break against Belgium. This initially seemed to backfire…
Michael Olise dismissed chants calling for him to win the Ballon d'Or with a smile following France's 4-1 victory over Belgium. After supporters chanted "Olise Ballon d'Or" during the Nations League fixture, the 24-year-old Bayern Munich winger stated that he had nothing to say in response to the speculation.
Olise made a decisive impact off the bench after France manager Zinedine Zidane initially rested him. Entering alongside substitutes Lucas De Cunha, Rayan Cherki, and Desire Doue, Olise assisted France's winning goal and scored two goals of his own to overcome Belgium's early lead.
