From winless start to first semis: Germany at UEFA Nations League

Germany begins their fifth UEFA Nations League campaign with manager Jürgen Klopp making his debut against Xavi's Netherlands side. Across the previous four editions of the competition, Die Nationalmannschaft has only managed to advance to the finals tournament on one occasion.

In the inaugural 2018/19 tournament, Joachim Löw's team finished bottom of their group before being spared relegation due to a format revision. Germany subsequently suffered a record 6-0 loss to Spain in the 2020/21 decider and managed just one victory from six matches during Hansi Flick's 2022/23 campaign.
