Germany U21 call up Noahkai Banks after defender chooses Germany over USA

FC Augsburg centre-back Noahkai Banks has decided to represent Germany internationally over the United States. Following his decision, the 20-year-old defender has received his first call-up to the German Under-21 national team under manager Antonio Di Salvo. Banks previously represented the United States at the youth level and was called up to the senior squad in September last year, though he did not make an official debut.

Alongside Banks, Louey Ben Farhat has also committed his international future to Germany. Farhat, a Freiburg-owned player currently on loan at Karlsruhe, previously made two friendly appearances for Tunisia. Germany Under-21 coach Antonio Di Salvo confirmed both decisions, stating that the German Football Association (DFB) had worked hard to show both players a pathway forward.
