Joshua Kimmich was officially voted Man of the Match after leading Bayern Munich to a 2-1 victory over Mainz at the Mewa Arena. Kimmich opened the scoring in the 14th minute, and Lennart Karl added a second-half goal to keep Bayern top of the Bundesliga table and unbeaten across all competitions heading into the international break.
Kimmich secured 49% of the fan vote on the Bundesliga app in his third game back following personal leave, registering 114 touches and a 92% pass completion rate alongside Aleksandar Pavlović. The victory was somewhat dampened by an injury to goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who was substituted for Jonas Urbig before halftime due to an ongoing foot issue.
