Manchester City reportedly rated Bayern Munich midfielder Aleksandar Pavlović higher than Chelsea's Enzo Fernández during their pursuit of midfield targets. According to Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg, City sporting director Hugo Viana pushed hard to sign the Germany international on a permanent transfer dating back to last spring. The Premier League champions were reportedly prepared to pay up to €100 million for the 20-year-old talent.

Despite Manchester City's strong interest and massive financial willingness, Pavlović flatly rejected the proposed move to remain with his hometown club. The Munich-born midfielder reaffirmed his commitment to the Bundesliga side, reportedly stating his desire to stay at Bayern Munich.
