Niclas Füllkrug and Serhou Guirassy to do battle as Borussia Dortmund host Werder Bremen

Borussia Dortmund will host Werder Bremen on Friday to open Matchday 5 of the 2026/27 Bundesliga season. The clash features a head-to-head battle between strikers Serhou Guirassy and former Dortmund forward Niclas Füllkrug, who faces his former team for the first time since departing in 2024. Table-topping Dortmund enter the fixture with four consecutive wins to hold a two-point advantage over Bayern Munich.

Guirassy has registered four goals and four assists across five games in all competitions this season, forming an effective partnership with Fabio Silva. Meanwhile, Füllkrug has revived his form back at Bremen after spells with West Ham and AC Milan, scoring three goals in his first four league games as Werder collected seven points.
