Bayern Munich forward Serge Gnabry has left the Germany national team camp and will remain in Munich while the squad travels to Greece. The decision comes ahead of Germany's Sunday UEFA Nations League fixture. Gnabry had previously been substituted at half-time during Germany's 2-0 victory over Serbia.
According to reports, Gnabry's departure is intended for workload management to avoid risking further injury as he works his way back from a long-term layoff. Germany manager Jürgen Klopp's coaching staff opted against taking risks with the attacker's fitness, opening opportunities for emerging talents such as Said El Mala and Lennart Karl.
