Both players will likely be doubts for Schalke's cup trip to Dynamo Dresden and their subsequent Bundesliga outing at home to RB Leipzig.

Schalke 04 players Soufiane El-Faouzi and Robin Gosens suffered severe facial injuries following a heavy head clash against 1.FC Köln. In the 38th minute of the 0-0 draw, both players jumped for a header and collided. El-Faouzi sustained a nasal bone fracture and a forehead laceration, while Gosens suffered two forehead lacerations requiring multiple stitches.
Both players were substituted after bleeding heavily but managed to leave the pitch on their own. Hospital examinations confirmed the extent of the damage on Sunday. Schalke stated that decisions regarding their returns will occur at the appropriate time, leaving both doubtful for upcoming fixtures against Dynamo Dresden and RB Leipzig.
