Effzeh's coach effectively ruled out the Tunisian midfielder until the new year, but he could at least welcome the return of Alessio Castro-Montes back to the fold.

1. FC Köln coach René Wagner has confirmed that midfielder Ellyes Skhiri is effectively ruled out until early next year following an injury. Speaking ahead of Friday's match against Eintracht Frankfurt, Wagner labeled the setback a brutal blow while noting that Tom Krauß and Paul Okon-Engstler are potential midfield alternatives.
In positive news for Köln, full-back Alessio Castro-Montes has recovered and is an option for the squad on Friday. Wagner also highlighted ongoing squad competition at full-back between Borna Sosa and Gideon Mensah, while praising Linton Maina's work ethic and defensive contributions following their recent Rhine derby victory.
