Black Stars back in the market for new coach after grim start to AFCON qualifying
Carlos Queiroz has stepped down as head coach of the Ghana national team after mutually terminating his contract with the Ghanaian FA. The decision marks his second departure from the role this year, following an open letter confirming the termination after a difficult start to AFCON qualifying.
Queiroz originally replaced Otto Addo in April ahead of the World Cup, resigned after a last-32 exit to Colombia, and then re-signed on September 2. His subsequent two matches resulted in AFCON qualifying defeats against Ivory Coast and Gambia by an aggregate score of 6-2. Ghana has not yet announced his successor.
